Hit-And-Run Driver Leaves Motorcyclist With Life-Threatening Injuries In Skokie Crash

Police said the driver of a red vehicle fled after colliding with a motorcyclist Sunday night at Dempster Street and LeClaire Avenue.

SKOKIE, IL — Police said a hit-and-run driver struck and critically injured a motorcyclist Sunday night in Skokie.

Shortly before 10 p.m., the driver of a red van or SUV headed northbound on LeClaire Avenue collided with the motorcyclist at its intersection with Dempster Street, according to Skokie police.

The motorist behind the wheel of the red car fled the crash site, while the biker was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as life-threatening, police said.

The major crash assistance team of the North Suburban Major Crimes Task Force was called in to assist with the investigation.
