July 4th Fireworks 2022 In Skokie

SKOKIE, IL — Cities and villages across the country continue to bring back many of the traditional Independence Day activities that were either canceled or modified the last two years. With July 4 less than two weeks away, it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you in 2022.

Here's a list of Skokie's scheduled festivals and parades to start planning for the holiday:


What: Skokie 4th of July Parade
When: Noon
Where: Lincoln Avenue from Oakton Community College Parking lot to Niles Center Road, then Oakton Street to Oakton Park.

What: 3-D Fireworks Festival
When: Noon to 10 p.m. (Gates open at 5 p.m., music and family fun at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks at dusk, first 10,00 patrons receive free 3-D glasses)
Where: Niles West High School, 5701 W. Oakton St., Skokie

Events are set to include face painting, hula hoop, egg race, water balloon toss, sack race and tug of war. Scheduled live music start with The Empty Pockets, an Indie-Americana outfit with classic rock, folk and blues influences, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. followed by 7th Heaven, a cover band playing hits from the 1970s through the present day, playing from 8 to 9:30 p.m.
