Man Tries To Rob Woman at 9 A.M. Last Monday On Lincoln In Skokie

He was a large man, demanded her purse and leaned on her inside her car. An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.


The following information is taken from Skokie police reports and the village of Skokie. 

Robbery

  • Robbery on the 7900 block of Lincoln Ave., on October 14th at 9:05 a.m.  Reported:  10/14/2013. An unknown male black subject approximately 24-28 years old 5’-5’8” with a large build wearing a bright colored shirt, possibly lime green, came up to the victim while she was at her car door and told her to give him her purse and money.  The subject then pushed himself against the victim while leaning on her inside the car.  The victim was able to kick the subject off of her while screaming.  The subject then rode off on a bicycle southbound through the alleyway.

Motor Vehicle Theft

  • Motor Vehicle Theft on the 4900 block of Birchwood Ave., between October 13th at 11:00 p.m. and October 14th at 9:00 a.m.  Reported:  10/14/2013.  An unknown person(s) stole a 2006 black Lexus.

  • Deceptive Practices on the 5000 block of Pratt Ave., on September 5th between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.  Reported:  10/14/2013.  An unknown person(s) attempted to open several online accounts using the victim’s information.

Theft

  • Theft on the 4900 block of Old Orchard Rd., on October 14th between 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.  Reported:  10/14/2013.  An unknown person(s) removed a brown leather wallet while the victim’s purse was hanging on the back of her chair.  The victim does not remember the name of the business she was in.

Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts/Accessories

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts/Accessories on the 9600 block of Kenton Ave., on October 14th between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.  Reported:  10/14/2013.  An unknown person(s) stole a catalytic converter from a Honda.

Criminal Defacement of Property

  • Criminal Defacement of Property on the 8900 block of Skokie Boulevard, between October 10th at 10:00 p.m. and October 11th at 6:00 a.m. Reported:  10/11/2013. An unknown person(s) used a permanent silver marker to write “ICOPS” and other illegible things on the front door of an apartment building.

Aggravated Battery

  • Aggravated Battery on the 9000 block of Skokie Boulevard, on October 8th at 2:50 p.m.  Reported:  10/08/2013. Police were called to break up a fight between two female subjects in the alleyway.  One subject was transported to the hospital for injuries.  Both subjects refused to sign complaints.

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle Parts/Accessories on the 9800 block of Woods Drive, on October 10th between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Reported:  10/11/2013. An unknown person(s) stole a catalytic converter from a Chevrolet Cavalier.
  • Theft from Motor Vehicle on the 5000 block of Dempster Street, on October 10th between 6:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  Reported:  10/11/2013. An unknown person(s) stole a catalytic converter.
