Featured Obituary:

Peter Christian Heck, age 64, of Glencoe, formerly of Northfield, IL, passed away peacefully on October 9th, 2023, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 1st, 1959, on Whidbey Island, Washington, to Edward Heck and Nordis Nelson.

Peter's academic journey led him to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He embarked on a distinguished career, dedicating nearly 23 years to Alliant Insurance Services (formerly Mesirow Financial), where he rose to the position of Senior Vice President.

On July 9th, 1988, he married the love of his life, Linda Bendix Heck, in a joyous ceremony at the Trinity United Methodist Church of Wilmette. Their union was a source of strength and happiness throughout their adventure together.

Beyond his professional achievements, Peter was a member of Skokie Country Club, where he shared many wonderful moments with friends. His life was marked by a multitude of interests and passions. An avid adventurist, road tripper, windsurfer, backgammon hustler, and sunrise sea glass enthusiast, Peter found beauty and wonder in the world around him.

In his youth, Peter was recognized as the New Trier West Varsity Football MVP. On the golf course, he demonstrated skill and sportsmanship, achieving the title of Skokie Country Club A Flight Golf Champion. His prowess wasn't limited to the gridiron or green, as he also secured victories as part of the Skokie Country Club Paddle Team. His talents extended to the realm of music, including the piano, guitar, and composing playful adlib songs for anyone lucky enough to be within earshot.
