Evelyne Catherine Coyne, 72, of Skokie, IL passed away on Monday October 14, 2013 in her home, surrounded by family. Loving daughter of the late Verne and Dorothy (Arnold) Slaney. Beloved wife of the late William A. Coyne who passed in 2000. Cherished mother of: Susan (John) Cacioppo; Margie Coyne Williams; Patricia Coyne; William F. (Patti) Coyne; Mary Coyne; John (Dawn) Coyne; Teresa (Louis) Velez; Dearest grandmother of 17 and great grandmother of 8. Fond sister of Vern (Rosemary) Slaney, Pat Melville Slaney, Bryan (Carmen) Slaney, Kevin Slaney and Jacqueline Slaney, and Aunt of many. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Lambert’s Catholic Church, 8148 North Karlov Ave., Skokie, IL. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3-9:00 P.M. at Skaja Terrance Funeral Home, 7812 N. Most fabulous husband that ever was for 60 years of Annette nee Gordner. Loving father of Don (Sue) Hankin, Cindy (Neil) Gottesman, Barbara Hankin and the late Linda Hankin. Proud grandfather of Aaron (Maiko), Sean, Shanon, Adam, Stephen and Eric. Dear brother of Belle (the late Harold) Hankin, the late Harry (the late Evelyn) Hankin, the late Sarah (the late Morris) Oppenheim, the late Temme Hankin and the late Dr. Henry (Esther) Hankin. Dr. Hankin was a very well known pediatrician for almost 60 years. He served generations of patients with passion, compassion, kindness and humanity. Service Wednesday 1PM at North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Road, Glencoe, IL 60022. Interment Shalom.
