BBQ For The Troops
Enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers, brats and more, and donate what you like to the USO. It's at Evanston Subaru on Oakton in Skokie, which is also giving car washes--and of course donate to the troops for that, too. The USO is raising awareness--and funds for--services needed by military personnel. It's from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Visit the world on Evanston's lakefront, with live music and entertainment, food and vendors in a world marketplace.
The Big Greek Food Festival
People come from throughout the Chicago area for this food, lovingly prepared by volunteers at St. Haralambos Greek Orthodox Church, on Caldwell in Niles. There's lamb on a spit, moussaka, shish-ke-babs, other lamb dishes, spanakopita and pastries dripping with honey, plus a band, Greek dancing and kids' activities.
