Quarrelers Who Prompted Lockdown At Westfield Old Orchard Won't Be Charged: Police
The two people apprehended last week due to a security scare at Westfield Old Orchard Shopping Center in Skokie were released.

SKOKIE, IL — The two people detained following a scare that prompted a lockdown at Westfield Old Orchard shopping center will not face charges, according to the Skokie Police Department.
"After reviewing video surveillance and conducting interviews, no criminal charges were filed against the two detained individuals," Skokie police said in a statement. "No one is in police custody regarding this incident, and the investigation has been concluded."
Skokie police responded to a report of a person with a gun at the mall at 2:33 p.m. on Tuesday. According to law enforcement, the report stemmed from a dispute between two people, but no shots were fired.

Westfield Old Orchard was briefly put under lockdown due to the report, causing shoppers and employees to barricade themselves inside stores.
Once police confirmed there was no danger to the public, the lockdown was lifted and both people involved in the quarrel were apprehended. Both individuals were later released from custody, police said.
