Skokie Agencies Seek Federal Funding from Village
Both the village and the social agencies are feeling the pinch of tough economic times.

Among the 14 social service agencies that applied for federal funding from the village, nine are to support service and programming and five are to help with capital improvements, Skokie Review reported.
The village projects an allotment of $425,000 from the federal Community Development Block Grant funding program, 5 percent down from last year, while grant applications total $463,000 – village staff plan to visit all applicants before making recommendations on funding allotment to trustees at the Feb. 4 meeting, Skokie Review reported.
