Skokie Crime: Car Window Smashed In Burglary

An arrest is merely an accusation, not evidence of a conviction.

Burglary

  • Sometime between the night of Aug. 6 and the morning of Aug. 8, someone entered a 2011 GMC vehicle and used the garage door opener to access the home's garage, police said, Various items were stolen from the garage, in the 8100 block of Tripp Avenue. 
  • Someone burglarized a garage in the 7400 block of Kilbourn Ave. and removed a bicycle. 
  • At the garage of a home in the 4900 block of Howard Street, someone entered, removed a bicycle from the garage and left another bicycle in its place.

Burglary From Motor Vehicle

An unknown person entered an unlocked 2010 Hyundai parked in the 8000 block of Tripp Avenue on Aug. 9 and ransacked the vehicle.  The owner reported that nothing was taken.

An unknown person entered a 2006 Jeep parked on the 8100 block of Tripp Avenue during the night of Aug. 8 or morning of Aug. 9, and removed four dollars.

An unknown person used a blunt object to break the window on a 2010 Ford parked on the 9200 block of Bennett Avenue during the night of Aug. 8 or morning of Aug. 9. Various items were removed from the vehicle.

Criminal Damage to Property

An unknown person(s) damaged a brick pillar near a basketball court at 9100 Gross Point Road during the night of Aug. 9 or morning of Aug. 10.

Criminal Defacement of Property

An unknown person(s) used black spray paint to write on a light pole and street sign in the 7800 block of Skokie Boulevard on Aug. 9.

Arrests

Robert Depenbrok of Morton Grove was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol on the 9000 Block of Skokie Boulevard on Aug. 10.

Ronnie B. Lee of the  8200 block of South Verno, Chicago, 54, was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol on the 3700 Block of Dempster Street, on Aug. 10.
