Jacquis Irby, 18, was one of three people that were shot at Clark Street Beach on Wednesday night in an incident police said wasn't random.

EVANSTON, IL — An 18-year-old Skokie man has been identified as the victim of a fatal shooting that took place at an Evanston beach on Wednesday night that also injured two other teens.
The Cook County Medical Examiner identified the man as Jacquis Irby, 18, of 8500 block of Niles Center Rd. in Skokie. Irby was one of three people who were shot shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Clark Street Beach in Evanston, which is just south of Northwestern University's campus.
Police said that one of the other shooting victims, 15, remains in critical condition at a local hospital and that another 15-year-old suffered minor injuries in the incident, which police said Wednesday night was not random and that the victims knew the suspects. Both of the 15-year-old victims are also Skokie residents, police said Thursday.

Evanston Police continue to search for suspects who are wanted in connection with the shooting, which led Northwestern school officials to issue a shelter-in-place order for students. Police said that there was no threat to students after the shooting, but school officials said that they issued the order while police were searching for suspects in the area of the campus.
The suspects were seen heading toward campus in a sedan. On Thursday, police continued Thursday morning, which closed a portion of the beach and the park path while Sheridan Road remained open.
