Volkswagen Stolen; Wallet With $400 Stolen

The following information was provided by Skokie Police Department reports and the village of Skokie. 

Motor Vehicle Theft

• Motor Vehicle Theft on the 4800 block of Mulford Street, between September 22nd at 1030 hrs. and September 23rd at 9:30 a.m.  Reported:  09/23/2013. An unknown person(s) stole a 2001 Volkswagen GTI, silver in color.

Theft

• Theft at 5132 Lunt Avenue, Alzate Inc., between July 26th at 11:45 a.m. and August 5th at 11:45 a.m.  Reported:  09/23/2013. An unknown person(s) stole a business check and cashed it.

• Theft at 5363 Touhy Avenue, on September 22nd at 3:50 p.m.  Reported:  09/22/2013. An unknown person(s) stole $400.00 dollars, a credit card and debit card from the victim’s wallet while she left it on the table to use the bathroom. 

Burglary from Motor Vehicle

• Burglary from Motor Vehicle on the 9500 block of Lawndale Avenue, between  August 31st at 8:00 p.m. and September 1st at 8:00 a.m.  Reported:  09/22/2013. The unknown offender entered the unlocked Toyota that was parked on the driveway and removed $150.00 dollars from a wallet that was in the glove box.

Attempted Retail Theft

• Retail Theft at 4963 Old Orchard Road, Bloomingdale’s on September 23rd at 7:50 p.m.   Reported:  09/23/2013. Three unknown juvenile, female, black subjects attempted to steal handbags and belts from the store without paying.  When confronted the subjects ran northbound to a silver Chevrolet Malibu with no plates.

Criminal Damage to Property

• Criminal Damage to Property on the 5400 block of Touhy Avenue, on September 23rd between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  Reported:  09/23/2013. An unknown person(s) threw a large rock and shattered the windshield of a parked car.

All Other Disorderly Conduct

• All Other Disorderly Conduct on the 7900 block of Niles Avenue, on September 23rd at 3:22 p.m.  Reported:  09/23/2013. It was reported that junior high school children have been hanging around after school and cursing in front of younger children being dropped off by the school bus.

Arrests

• Arteaga, Myra A., 24, 523 S. Lake Street, Mundelein, was arrested for Retail Theft on the 4900 block of Old Orchard Road, on 09/23/2013.

• Juvenile, 14, Skokie, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct on the 4800 block of Oakton Street, on 09/23/2013.

• Cooper, James T., 49, 720 Wesley Avenue, #1, Evanston, was arrested for driving on a Suspended/Revoked Driver’s License on the 4000 block of Howard Street, on 09/22/2013.

• Youhanna, Omar S., 44, 5549 N. Major Avenue, Chicago, was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving on a Suspended/Revoked Driver’s License on the 6700 block of Central, Chicago, on 09/22/2013.
