72-Year-Old Man Shot With Paintball Gun In Argument Over Parking

SOUTH SHORE, IL — A 72-year-old man is injured after police said he was shot with a paintball gun during an argument over a parking space Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, a man was trying to park his car in a parking lot in the 2500 block of East 73rd Street at around 10:45 a.m. when the 72-year-old told him he wasn't allowed in the lot.
The man became extremely upset and shot multiple paintballs at the elderly man before driving away, the 72-year-old told police. The older man was treated on the scene for bruising but was not taken to the hospital.

Police said Area One detectives are investigating the incident.
According to police notifications, neighborhoods are seeing an increase in paintball attacks in the past few weeks. On Sept. 15 a pregnant woman was injured in one of three separate paintball attacks in Wicker Park that occurred just a few blocks from one another.
