Basketball Game Turns Deadly At Palmer Park In Roseland

Police said a 25 year-old man was shot dead Tuesday following argument during a basketball game in the 200 block of East 111th Street.

ROSELAND — Early voting was temporarily shut down at Palmer Park Tuesday while Chicago police investigated a fatal shooting at a nearby building.

Around 11:30 a.m., a group of people were playing basketball at 200 E. 111th Street when an argument started. One man pulled out a gun and started shooting. A 25-year-old man was shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The alleged shooter, "a black male, 6'0"-6'3", wearing maroon shorts" fled, police said.

No one was in custody Tuesday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m., the early voting polling place reopened, election officials said.
