Driver Shot During Armored Truck Robbery Outside Brighton Park Chase Bank Branch
The shooter was last seen fleeing in a silver vehicle, heading southbound on Troy, then eastbound on 44th Street, Chicago police said.
CHICAGO — The driver of a Brinks armored truck is in critical condition after he was reportedly shot during a robbery Tuesday morning outside a Chase Bank branch on the Chicago’s Southwest Side.
The Chicago FBI confirmed to Patch that a Brinks truck robbery happened around 10 a.m. at the Chase Bank branch at 4363 S. Archer Avenue at Kedzie Avenue in Brighton Park. The robbery shooting is currently being investigated by the FBI and Chicago police.
According to CPD, the 49-year-old driver was standing outside the bank when he was approached by the purported robber, who pulled out a gun and fired shots at the driver.

The driver suffered two gunshot wounds, one to each thigh, and was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition. No other injuries were reported, police said.
The shooter fled in a silver vehicle, heading southbound on Troy, then eastbound on 44th Street. No one is in custody at this time. Area One detectives are investigating.
