Child, 2, Shot Inside Southwest Side Home On Saturday: Chicago PD

First responders took the girl to a hospital and recovered a gun at the scene, per police. Suspect information was not immediately released.

CHICAGO — A 2-year-old girl is recovering after being shot inside a residence in Chicago Lawn on Saturday evening, police said.

Officers responded to a home in the 2500 block of West 61st Street at approximately 7 p.m. to find the child had been shot in the leg " by an unknown offender," according to Chicago PD.

First responders took the child to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition, police said. A firearm was recovered on scene, and Area One Detectives are investigating.
