IL Lotto Player Has Only 2 Weeks Left To Claim $250,000 Prize

CHICAGO — An unclaimed Lucky Day Lotto could be an unlucky day if the owner of an unclaimed $250,000 prize from a year ago doesn’t come forward.

The Illinois Lottery is seeking the owner of the unclaimed prize that was purchased Oct. 29, 2023 in Chicago. The lucky winner has less than two weeks left to claim their prize.

The ticket was purchased at Fairplay Finer Foods, 2200 S. Western Ave., Chicago. Lottery officials are advising Lucky Day Lotto players to search every nook and cranny in their homes for the missing ticket.

“If you think you purchased a Lucky Day Lotto ticket for last year’s October 29 drawing, now is the time to check under your sofa cushions, in old coat packets, or any other spots where a year-old lottery ticket might be tucked away,” state lottery officials said in a news release.

Winners have a year from the original drawing date to claim their prize, so the expiration date to claim this prize is quickly approaching.

This unclaimed Lucky Day Lotto ticket is one of seven Illinois Lottery prizes currently unclaimed, all totaling nearly $4.5 million, including:

Prizes for winning lottery tickets can be claimed four ways:

• Most prizes under $600 can be cashed out at a retail center.
• Winnings over $600 through $10,000 must be claimed at a Claim Center, by mail, or via an e-Claim.
• Winnings over $10,000 must be claimed at a Claim Center or by mail.
• If you plan to claim your prize at a Claim Center, you must make an appointment first, at 69 W. Washington St., Suite LL06 or 9511 Harrison St., Des Plaines.
