At Least 4 Shot After Services Outside Funeral Home: Cops
People were returning to their cars when gunfire erupted Monday afternoon in the Burnside neighborhood.

CHICAGO — At least four people were wounded when shots were fired Monday afternoon following a funeral on the South Side, according to Chicago police. The condition of those injured was not immediately known.
The shooting happened just before 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, outside a funeral home in the 9200 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue in the Burnside neighborhood, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi wrote in an online update. Services had ended, and people were returning to their cars when shots were fired, he added.
"Expect a heavy police response in the area [of the shooting]," Guglielmi wrote.

Victims were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and Oak Lawn's Advocate Christ Medical Center.
