Man Dies Trying To Save Dog From Lagoon: Reports
Police say the 26-year-old fell through the ice while trying to rescue his dog.

CHICAGO, IL — A 26-year-old man was transported to an area hospital but died Saturday afternoon after he fell through the ice while trying to save his dog on the McKinley Park lagoon, police said. An emergency crew responded to the lagoon at about 1 p.m. and pulled the man, identified as 26-year-old Tao Jiang of Chicago, from the water.
The dog was retrieved from the water and survived, authorities told NBC Chicago.
Crews performed CPR on Jiang, who was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later, according to the Chicago Tribune.
