A man has pleaded guilty to carjacking three people in one week in August 2022 in the West Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, shooting one of the victims after he'd already given up his car.

Jamari Edwards, 22, pleaded guilty to three counts of carjacking, one count of discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence in U.S. District Court in Chicago.
According to his plea agreement, Edwards carjacked a man at gunpoint in the drive-thru of a coffee shop in the 7100 block of South Ashland Avenue on Aug. 6, 2022. After forcing the victim out of his 2013 Honda Civic, as the victim was walking away, Edwards asked him why he wasn't scared, and shot him in the leg.
