Mother Accused Of Shooting, Killing 12-Year-Old Son: Prosecutors
Court records show Fallon Harris, 37, is charged with murder after police said she admitted to shooting her son over an argument.

CHICAGO — A 37-year-old mother told police she shot and killed her 12-year-old son over the weekend after an argument about an SD card, prosecutors said.
Fallon C. Harris, of the 8000 block of South Bennett Avenue on Chicago's South Side, has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with her son's death Saturday morning. She is currently being held without bail until her next court date on Sept. 17.
According to court documents, Harris confronted her son about the missing piece of technology on Saturday at around 10:15 a.m. She accused him of taking the digital storage disc from her car the night before. When the boy, later identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office as Kaden Ingram, could not show his mom the card, Harris shot him once.

Attorneys then said Harris asked her son, conscious but crying on the floor, again where the disc was. When he still couldn't answer, authorities said she shot him a second time.
Harris works for the Chicago Department of Transportation and is a licensed concealed carry gun owner. Her relatives told police the woman was acting "paranoid" before she and her son began arguing and even led officers to the murder weapon.

Shortly after prosecutors said Harris shot Kaden, relatives said they received a call from her admitting to shooting the son. The relatives contacted Kaden's father, who met police at the house. Kaden was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead by 10:51 a.m.
According to court records, almost the entire incident was captured on surveillance camera footage inside the home. When officers arrived, Harris told them she had shot her son and expressed concerns people were "out to get her."
The medical examiner ruled Kaden's death a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds to the head. If convicted, Harris could face a life sentence.
