Rep. La Shawn Ford Invites Community To Black Friday Wealth Symposium

CHICAGO – Rep. La Shawn K. Ford (8th District) will host a Black Friday Wealth Symposium Friday, Nov. 29. The free symposium runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Harold Washington Cultural Center, 4702 S. Martin Luther King Drive in Chicago.

The educational event will also feature entertainment from celebrated hip-hop artist, DJ and entrepreneur MC Lyte.

“As we approach Black Friday, it’s important to remember that true financial wealth isn’t just about the amount of money we have, it’s about how we choose to spend it,” Ford said in a news release. “We must resist the temptation to spend beyond our means or go into debt during this buying season. Instead, let’s prioritize making smart, intentional purchases that align with our financial abilities. By doing so, we can ensure that we protect our wealth, build a solid financial foundation and ultimately create generational wealth that can be passed on to our loved ones. Ford is collaborating with the Building Dreams Foundation and the Wealth and Wellness Experience to organize the symposium which will feature in-depth panels, workshops, networking opportunities and a vendor expo featuring local businesses and resources.
