Resurfacing Of Morgan Street Set To Begin Monday On South Side

Resurfacing of Morgan Street between 63rd and 79th streets and between 82nd and 87th Streets will begin Monday, Aug. 26, weather permitting.

CHICAGO – Resurfacing of Morgan Street between 63rd and 79th streets and between 82nd and 87th Streets, in Chicago, will begin Monday, Aug. 26, weather permitting. The project will require intermittent lane closures, according to IDOT officials.

The $1.8 million project, which consists of resurfacing the 3-mile stretch of Morgan Street and constructing new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps, is anticipated to be completed in late November.

Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
