Single family detached home prices in St Charles, Illinois are up 7% since their most recent low in April of this year.

As a matter of fact, home values haven’t been this high since June of 2012. We’re still not seeing home prices comparable to their high in May of 2008 but then again, that’s why the bubble burst...

Here’s a quick look at St Charles, Illinois home prices through the years:

  • Prices hit their pre-bubble peak in May of 2008 when the average sales price was $487,501.
  • The housing bubble hit St Charles in April, 2009 when prices started to plummet and hit bottom seven months later in November, 2009. During that period, prices fell 16%.
  • Home prices remained somewhat stable through early 2012 but dropped again to hit an all time low in January of 2013 when they averaged $365,264.
  • Home prices have been on the rebound now for over a year with just one minor hiccup. Prices are projected to increase at a steady and more manageable rate.


The data in this report looks at detached single family homes sold in St Charles, Illinois and excludes short sales and bank owned foreclosures as those homes tend to skew the figures. Data was compiled from MRED (
Midwest Real Estate Data) our local MLS on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014.
