Campton Hills Ranked Among the Safest Cities in Illinois

From the northern suburbs to the quaint rural towns in southern Illinois, there are plenty of places to live in the state where you and your family can feel safe.

But which cities in the Prairie State are considered to be among the safest?

The home security website Safewise.com used the most recent statistics from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report to determine which cities had the lowest violent crime and property crime rates per 1,000 resident.

Safewise excluded cities with populations below 5,000, as well as cities whose local law enforcement agencies failed to submit Uniform Crime Reports to the FBI. A total of 100 cities were included in the ranking.

Here are the Top 20 safest cities in Illinois, along with the number of reported violent crimes and property crimes per 1,000 people.
