St. Charles Gets $100,000 Development Grant

Cash to be used for police and fire department projects.

The City of St. Charles has been awarded a $100,000 grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The money will be used for the following projects:

  • Construction of a shelter at the police practice gun firing range, on Illinois 38 west of Peck Road.
  • Purchase and installation of a remote video camera system for an area downtown (defined as 1st St/Walnut St/3rd St/Cedar St).
  • Purchase and installation of traffic pre-emption equipment and warning lighting near Fire Station No. 3, 2901 Campton Hills Road.

The projects will be completed by October 2016.
