Back to High School: Important Dates
The start of the school year is here, and Patch lists some of the significant days for high schools in the area that Tinley students attend including Andrew, Tinley Park and Lincoln-Way North.
Believe it or not, the first day of school is right around the corner.
And there's more to do than just show up when classes start. Here's a list of some important dates for students attending either Andrew, Tinley Park or Lincoln-Way North high schools.
- Wednesday, Aug. 15
- 8:30 a.m.— First day of school for freshman and transfer students. Dismissal is at 3 p.m.
- Thursday, Aug. 16
- 7:05 a.m.—First day of school for all sophomores, juniors and seniors. Dismissal is at 3 p.m.
- Picture day for underclassmen.
- Friday, Aug. 17
- Picture day for underclassmen.
- Wednesday, Aug. 29
- 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. — Back-to-School Night.
- Tuesday, Aug. 14
- 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.— Student packet and parking pass pickup.
- Wednesday, Aug. 15
- 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.— Student packet and parking pass pickup.
- 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.—Freshman/New Student Ice Cream Social.
- Monday Aug. 20
- Start of school for all freshman students in Bremen High School District 228 (Hillcrest High School, Bremen High School, Tinley Park High School, Oak Forest High School)
- Tuesday, Aug. 21
- Start of school for all sophomore, junior and senior students in Bremen High School District 228.
- Tuesday, Aug. 7
- 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. — Registration
- Thursday, Aug. 9
- Noon to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. —Registration
- Tuesday, Aug. 14
- 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. — "Straight Talk" with Supt. Lawrence Wyllie.
- Thursday, Aug. 16
- First day of school.
- Friday, Aug. 17
- 6 p.m.—Black and Gold Community Night.
- Wednesday, Aug. 29
- Back-to-School Night
