Drunken Driver Asks Cop for Directions, Reports Say
Police said a drunken driver pulled up next to them early Monday and asked for directions. He then began swerving and making strange traffic maneuvers, like illegally loitering in a median, according to the report.

Police said a 31-year-old Chicago man pulled alongside a squad car early Monday and asked for directions before driving on erratically.
The man, Djuan K. Mays, of the 700 block of West 82nd Street in Chicago, began honking at an officer driving in front of him in the 17300 block of Oak Park Avenue in around 1:14 a.m., according to the report. The officer reportedly pulled over and Mays drove up next to him, asking for directions to 95th and Western.
The officer gave directions and Mays continued south on Oak Park Avenue. At one point, he pulled over to the side, the report said, and the officer pulled up behind him to make sure everything was OK.

" … The subject exited with his hands in the air," the report said. "(The officer) exited and advised the subject to put his hands down and he did. The subject then got back into his vehicle and the (officer) asked him if he was OK and he said, 'yes.'"
Mays continued driving and while doing so, crossed the center line three times, police said. The officer eventually pulled him over again and had him perform field sobriety tests. He failed them, according to the report.

He was taken to the where he reportedly blow a .184 on the Breathalyzer.
"During processing, Mays exhibited various behavioral changes," the report said. "(He) was mostly friendly and cooperative, but told (an officer) to 'shut the f--- up' at one point. Mays tucked his head into his shirt and talked to himself for a short time. (He) then started crying just prior to being released."
He was charged with improper lane usage, violating center median laws, driving under the influence and driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than 0.08.
