Family Of Tinley Teen Hit By Train Gets Help From GoFundMe Page
The fundraising campaign is to help Shane Gillane's family offset funeral expenses.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A GoFundMe campaign has been created to help the family of a teen who was killed by a freight train Tuesday night pay funeral expenses. The fundraising page for the family of Shane P. Gillane was created Wednesday, and it raised $3,665 in the first 18 hours. The goal is $5,000.
"It is unfortunate that [the family's] oldest son was taken from them way too soon," the page states. "Shane was a handsome and bright college student. He was also a loving son and a great big brother."
Gillane, 19, was struck by a westbound freight train near the 80th Avenue Metra station, the Will County Coroner's Office said. He suffered multiple injuries from the incident and was pronounced dead at 11:05 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, according to the coroner's office.
