Fires At Tinley Mental Health Center Under Investigation
The fires at the Tinley Mental Health Center property happened in the same building Friday night.
TINLEY PARK, IL — After more than two hours, fires in a building on the vacant Tinley Mental Health Center campus were out Friday as of 10 p.m., Village Manager Pat Carr told Patch. Crews had been at the scene at 183rd and Harlem Avenue since 8 p.m.
Smoke was seen coming from Pine Hall just before 8 p.m, Carr said. Mayor Mike Glotz told Patch that there were "multiple" fires in the building.
The severity of the fires was still unknown Friday night, Carr said. The State Fire Marshal's office is investigating the possibility of suspicious activity, due to multiple fires in different rooms of the building, Carr said.
