Man in Stranger's Garage: 'I'm Drunk and I Don't Know How I got Here' and More

MONDAY, JULY 30
Stolen Credit cards
A woman told that sometime between 8:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., someone stole her credit and debit cards. The cards were used for $814.74 and $1,174.84 purchases at Home Depot in Frankfort, according to the report.

Woman Believes Movers Stole Wedding Ring
A resident of the 6600 block of 173rd Street in called the cops after realizing her $2,000 wedding ring, made up of six real diamonds and 10 cubic zirconia stones, was stolen. The woman said that between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., she had movers in the home and heard her jewelry box close. She went to her bedroom and found one of the movers inside. All three movers denied taking the ring, according to the report.

Man Stuck in Stranger's Garage 'Drunk and I Don't Know How I got Here'
A resident of the 16700 block of 82nd Avenue in called police early Sunday morning after she found a man stuck between the rear end of the car and the overhead door, police said.
The woman said she went downstairs around 4:45 a.m. after hearing a noise outside by her garbage cans. She went outside, thinking it may be one of her children, the report said. She then opened the overhead garage door and saw a man, approximately 18 to 24 years old, standing in her garage. He told her that her side door was broken and didn't lock, the report said.
"The complainant relates that it looked as thought the offender was stuck between the car and the overhead door," the report said. "(She) related the offender then stated, 'I'm drunk and I don't know how I got here."
She asked him where he lived and he pointed north, police said. She told him to leave and he began walking down 82nd Avenue. The woman checked her garage around 6 a.m. and said she noticed the man had knocked a bike off a rack, damaging one of her vehicles, the report said.
FRIDAY, JULY 27
Broken Glass
Residents of a condominium building in the 8100 block of South 169th Street in Tinley Park said that sometime between 9:30 a.m. and midnight, someone threw a landscaping brick through the front, glass window. The pane had holes and cracks in it, police said.
SATURDAY, JULY 21
Retail Theft
Dan Shelby, 50, of the 12500 block of South Fairview Avenue in Blue Island, was arrested around 6 p.m. in the 7500 block of 191st Street in Tinley Park and charged with felony retail theft.
