Man Waves Handgun at Fellow Driver During Traffic Mix-up

Police said the driver of a gold car, possibly a Cadillac, brandished a "dark-colored" handgun last week while arguing with another motorist.

A woman called the cops last week after a fellow driver waved a gun at her during a strange traffic altercation on Duvan Drive.

The 42-year-old local woman said that around 11:40 a.m. Aug. 15, she left the Illinois Vehicle Emissions testing center at 7460 W. Duvan Drive in . She turned right onto Duvan and began heading north when she heard the driver behind her sounding his horn. She said he may have been in a Cadillac. The car was gold, the report said.

Just south of 175th Street on Duvan, the woman pulled over to the right to let the driver pass. She stuck out her arm and waived the driver by her, according to police.

"The vehicle pulled next to (the victim) and stopped," the report said. "The driver started yelling at her, telling her that he was following the vehicle in front of (hers) and why did she pull in front of him. (The victim) told him that he was crazy and to just go. The driver then brandished a dark colored handgun and continued to yell at (the woman)."

At that point, the woman put her car in drive and headed west down 175th Street toward 80th Avenue, police said. She didn't see where the driver went. She described him as a white man in his 50s. He had grey hair and a mustache, the report said.
