Orland Township Candidates: See Who's Running

Three parties have filed to run for various open slots within the Township this April. See who they and what they're running for.

ORLAND TOWNSHIP, IL — The April 2021 Consolidated Elections are just months away. Candidates for various positions around Orland Township are officially in the running for mayor, trustee and of course, Orland Township Board of Trustees.

This year, the township has three parties vying for votes, as positions for trustee, supervisor and highway commissioner are being challenged. Filing for the elections ended in December, with many old and new faces entering the race.

The following candidates, organized by party affiliation, are expected to appear on the ballot:

Orland Township Together Party

  • Incumbent Supervisor — Paul A. O’Grady
  • Incumbent Clerk — Cindy M. Murray
  • Incumbent Assessor — Richard Edward Kelly
  • Incumbent Trustee — Patrick J. Feldner
  • Incumbent for Trustee — Maria Lynn Sanfilippo
  • Incumbent for Trustee — John Gerard Lynch
  • For Trustee — Michael R. Maratea
  • Highway Commissioner — Antonio Rubino

The Orland Township Together Party filed petitions for the election on Dec. 14.

Orland Residents for Responsible Government

  • For Supervisor — Scott R. Kaspar
  • For Trustee — Andrea Bowles
  • For Trustee — Joseph J. Solek
  • For Trustee — William Keefer
  • For Trustee — Lora Kreczmer

The Orland Residents for Responsible Government party filed their petitions on Dec. 21.

Orland Township Freedom Party

  • For Highway Commissioner Brian H. Younker

Riding solo this election, Younker filed under the Orland Township Freedom Party on Dec. 21.

"It is very exciting to see so many people actively participating in the democratic process in their local communities," Cook County Clerk Karen A. Yarbrough said in a news release. "These elections are often overlooked although they have the most impact on our day-to-day lives."

The Consolidated Election will take place on April 6. Consolidated primaries are scheduled for Feb. 23. For more information regarding the upcoming election, click here.
