ORLAND TOWNSHIP, IL — Buckle up. Driver facilities across Illinois have officially reopened Tuesday, according to Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White. But before drivers speed over to receive service, White reminds the public that driver’s license and ID card expiration dates have been extended to June 1, with many services available online.

On Monday, the Orland Township facility, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., reopened. In addition, the Secretary of State's Office said the following locations also opened a day early:

  • Chicago North, 5401 N. Elston Ave.
  • Chicago South, 9901 S. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr.
  • Chicago Diversey Express, 4642 W. Diversey Ave.
  • Lockport, 1029 E. 9th St.
  • Melrose Park Civic Center, 1000 N. 25th Ave.
  • Springfield, 2701 S. Dirksen Pkwy, also reopened a day early.

To ensure safety, customers visiting facilities, along with Secretary of State employees, will be required to wear face masks. Social distancing measures have been put in place and a limited number of people will be allowed in each facility at a time. Due to this, White encourages customers to dress for cold weather, as they may have to wait outdoors.
