TINLEY PARK, IL — As we turn the page to chapter 2021, we find the April Consolidated Elections are just around the corner. Candidates for various positions around Tinley Park are officially in the running for mayor, village trustee, library board and more.

Filing for the election ended in December, with many old and new faces entering various races around the village.

The Tinley Park Public Library Board of Trustees have three seats up for grabs this April. Three current trustees were the only people to file for candidacy before the deadline. The incumbents include:

  • Brad Daniels — Filed on Dec. 14 for re-election.
  • Laura Hess-Wojcik — Filed on Dec. 16 for re-election.
  • Darren B. Meyers — Filed on Dec. 17 for re-election.

Library board trustees serve six-year terms, contrary to village board officials who serve four-year terms. There are seven board members for the Tinley Park Library.

"It is very exciting to see so many people actively participating in the democratic process in their local communities," Cook County Clerk Karen A. Yarbrough said in a news release. "These elections are often overlooked although they have the most impact on our day-to-day lives."
