Tinley's Hoban Named '40 Under 40'

Patrick Hoban, Tinley's economic development manager, won a '40 Under 40' award for distinction in his field.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park's Patrick Hoban has been named one of the “40 Under 40” economic development managers to watch in the industry.

The award is one of the top honors an economic development manager can receive in the field, and the only one recognizing young talent.

Hoban was hired by the village in 2017. His focus is on retention expansion and attraction of all industries. He has served as an IT professional for EDC of Decatur and Macon County, a public- private partnership focused on the retention expansion and attraction of non-retail industry in central Illinois. He was later promoted to vice president of business development at the EDC. Hoban also severed as the economic development officer for the City of Decatur. He holds several industry certifications and master's degree business in analytics from the University of Notre Dame.

The awards are managed by Development Counsellors International, a New York-based firm that specializes in economic development marketing, and Jorgenson Consulting, a national executive search firm that serves organizations in economic and community development industries.Winners are chosen by an independent, five-member selection committee from a pool of more than 170 candidates.
