Vernon Township has several events and opportunities for Township residents to take advantage of; please see below to learn more! The Township is located at 3050 N. Main Street in Buffalo Grove.

Make Your Cricket Pitch Reservation: Field reservations are open for the Township's brand-new Cricket Pitch, located next to the Township! To reserve it for team play, contact Chris at chris@vernontownship.com or call 847-634-4600. Reservations for baseball, softball and football fields are also available.

Applications Accepted for Next Township Clerk: Interested candidates must be a legal voter of Vernon Township and have lived in the Township for at least one year prior to appointment to the office. Document Shredding Event Monday, April 29: The Township’s Highway Department will host their first free shredding event this year Monday, April 29 from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at Vernon Township. Residents can have paper items (only-no metal or plastic items), including canceled/unused checks, old insurance policies, bills, or medical records, along with invoices. Items that will not be accepted include magazines, newspapers, manila folders or binders. Residents are limited to three medium-sized boxes or bags. For questions, call Tracy at 847-634-4600.

Aquatic Center Open Saturday, May 25, Lifeguards Being Sought: The Township’s Jacob Grossman Aquatic Center will open Saturday, May 25 at noon, and pool passes will be available for purchase on opening day. Please Note: The Aquatic Center is the only pool in the area that will open on Memorial Day weekend! The Township is also currently seeking part-time lifeguards. No previous lifeguard training or experience is required; training will be provided upon hiring, if needed. VT Palooza is Thursday, June 13: Join the Township for their inaugural VT Palooza Thursday, June 13 from 5-8 p.m. This event will have something for the whole family, including carnival and lawn games, live music, bounce houses, food vendors and discounts for the Aquatic Center. Summer Camp Starts Monday, June 17: Registration is now open for children from 4-7 years of age and the camp runs from Monday, June 17 through Friday, August 2 at William E. Peterson Park (16652 N. Buffalo Grove Road in Vernon Hills). Children will enjoy an educational experience with activities such as arts and crafts, sports, swimming, sing-a-longs and more! 15th Annual Community Garage Sale Saturday, June 22: The Township’s 15th annual Community Garage Sale will be held in the west parking lot at Prairie View Metra Station (23034 N. Main Street, Buffalo Grove) rain or shine, Saturday, June 22 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. If you would like to be a vendor at this event, the Township has spaces available, with proceeds benefiting the Township Food Pantry.
