$1K Stolen From Car In Western Springs: Police
Another $17 – all in $1 bills – mysteriously showed up in the owner's wallet, authorities said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police released their blotter. Here is information from the reports:
Car burglary
- Someone entered a car and stole $1,040 in U.S. currency and two credit cards from a wallet about 10:30 a.m. Dec. 21 in the parking lot at the shopping center that includes Mariano's, 4700 Gilbert Ave. The owner reported that $17 in $1 bills was left in the wallet, which had not been there before.

- Two men stole several bottles of 818 tequila and cases of Cutwater canned cocktails about 7 p.m. Dec. 21 at Mariano's, 4700 Gilbert Ave. One man was described as 6-foot-7 with dreadlocks, while the other was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. They were last seen in a gray SUV with Illinois license plates, beginning with the letters "FR."
Porch piracy
- A package was reported stolen about 9 p.m. Dec. 21 from a front porch in the 1000 block of Longmeadow Lane. The package was valued at $22.
