Cars Stolen In Western Springs Neighborhoods
One car was tracked to Chicago, where three people were charged, police said.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Cars were reported stolen shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday in the 5300 block of Central Avenue and the 5400 block of Fair Elms Avenue, Western Springs police said.
Police said one of the cars was tracked in Chicago's 9000 block of South Drexel Avenue. This was done with the help of a Chicago police helicopter.
The suspects were seen entering a home in the Chicago neighborhood, so police executed a search warrant, police said. Four people were apprehended without any problems, according to a Western Springs news release.

Officers also found a gun and another stolen car, which was reported stolen from a northern suburb, police said.
In coordination with Cook County prosecutors, authorities filed the following charges:

- One person was charged with aggravated possession of a stolen car.
- Two were charged with criminal trespass of a car.
- The fourth person was released without charges.
Police did not name the suspects.
In the release, the village encouraged residents to always lock cars and remove valuables, including key fobs.
