Damaged Christmas Lights, Spray Paint, Underage Drinking: Western Springs Police Blotter
Western Springs cops have been busy for the past week.
The following items were taken from the Western Springs police blotter throughout the past week. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Property damage
- A resident living in the 4800 block of Johnson Avenue told Western Springs police that someone damaged Christmas lights and spray painted their back deck sometime between Feb. 5 and the afternoon of Feb. 19.
DUI

- Christopher Thompson, 26, was stopped at 1:49 a.m. Feb. 14 for speeding in the area of Ogden Avenue and Wolf Road. He was arrested when police quickly found he was driving under the influence.
Underage drinking
- Thomas P. Hickey, 20, and Bryce Hoskins, 19, were stopped Feb. 14 for speeding and arrested when police found four cans of beer in their car and determined theyβd been drinking underage.
Attempted burglary

- A Western Springs resident living in the 4900 block of Woodland Avenue reported an attempted residential burglary around 8 p.m. Feb. 18. The neighbor said they witnessed someone trying to force entry through a basement door, which held damage after the incident, but no entry was gained. The attempted burglar fled the scene before cops got there, according to reports.
Traffic violation
- David N. Clark, 27, of La Grange Highlands, was stopped at 5:47 a.m. Feb. 13 at 43rd Street and Wolf Road because he didnβt have a rear registration light. A records check led cops to arrest him for not having a valid driverβs license.
