Jury Duty Scam Targets Western Springs Residents
In the scam, residents are asked to pay money or be immediately arrested, police said.
WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Western Springs police said over the weekend that a scammer is targeting residents with a scheme involving jury duty.
The caller has access to the residents' names and addresses, which police say makes the scam appear more credible.
According to the police department, residents have received a call from someone claiming to be with the Cook County Sheriff's Office. The person is said to be instructing residents to pay money to avoid immediate arrest.
