First-grade students at Field Park Elementary ducked out into the sunny, windy Field Park on Thursday morning and afternoon to tie-dye T-shirts, which they will take home to dry and then wear to the outdoor first-grade picnic next Thursday. Meanwhile, other first-graders waiting for their turn with the dye peeled and broke crayons that will be melted and set into multicolored "supercrayons," while others wrote farewell messages to an outgoing teacher on white poster paper.
