Every Valley: Advent with the Scriptures of Handel’s Messiah will be our guide, we will explore the verses Handel used this beloved masterpiece.

Friday, 12/4: Cruise to Denmark, Dole Hall 3:00pm Our cruise around the world destination this month is to Denmark. Enjoy a travelogue. Residents are welcome share any stories and memorabilia you may have and bring your passport for your stamp. Enjoy a sweet treat from this country.

This month’s lecture will be on “The Merry Widow”. Come and enjoy a lecture by Volunteer lecturer Charles DeWitt as he discusses the history of the show and play select pieces of the opera. The lecture precedes the performance at the Lyric Opera of Chicago this week. All are Welcome.

This month’s exhibit includes Antique & Heirlooms belonging to Plymouth Place residents and employees.

Come see them and hear the stories behind these beautiful work of art. Refreshments served.

Tuesday, 12/15: 1st Congregational Church of Western Springs Bells/Chimes Concert, Dole Hall 10:30am Program will include selections by Vivaldi, Mozart, Hanson, Larson and more. The Plymouth Place Chimers will also play holiday pieces.

Plymouth Place Staff will entertain the residents as a thank you for their most generous

Join us to watch a classic movie and have some freshly popped popcorn.

Wednesday, 12/16: What Matters Most, Bud’s Place 3:30-4:30pm

What makes life worth living when we are old and frail and unable to care for ourselves? How do we fight the Three Plagues of nursing home existence: boredom, loneliness and helplessness? Come and converse about how to ensure we live our whole lives long. Facilitated by Chaplain Carol Taylor, 588-6420.

Bill brings the Christmas Story down to earth visiting the actual sacred sites that gave birth it Christianity that have carried that miracle down through the ages. Chicago’s only professional pan-Scandinavian band, the Nordland Band has, since its inception in 1990, been invited to perform for the Royal Danish Consulate, at the w\Winnipeg and the Earth Song Folk Festivals in Canada, and has been a regular for many years at Chicago’s Andersonville Midsommar Fest.
