Thomas Ford Library voted among 10 Best Children’s Libraries 2023
Kidlist announced that Thomas Ford is one of 2023's top 10 libraries for kids in the western suburbs, as voted by their readers.
Young patrons and their families are big advocates of Thomas Ford Memorial Library, especially the Youth Services area. They once again voiced their support by voting for Thomas Ford as one of Kidlist's Top 10 Libraries in the Western Suburbs:
"This isn’t a huge library, but the space has been maximized. Kids love the reading train they can climb aboard and make themselves comfortable in little benches to enjoy books or some imaginary play. The library was renovated in 2019 to add additional study rooms, new spaces for children’s play and Storytime, and a new Teen and Tween space.
"You also won’t want to miss the iconic Western Springs Water Tower play area with hand puppets to put on a show. The new space has magnetic letters and Velcro ramps to arrange an obstacle course for balls to roll down. In July 2022, this library also joined the growing number of local libraries that have gone “fine free,” where no overdue fines are charged for materials."
