Western Spring Home Invasions Reported

Police said a suspect is in custody. The suspect is believed to have physically assaulted a person.

WESTERN SPRINGS, IL – Two homes were invaded Wednesday in a Western Springs neighborhood, with one person physically assaulted, police said.

About 2:30 p.m., police said they were called to the first invasion, which was in the 5000 block of Harvey Avenue. The suspect fled before officers arrived.

Shortly after, another home invasion was reported in the 200 block of Rugeley Road, where the suspect attacked a male in the home and stole a car, police said. It's several houses down as Harvey curves into Rugeley.

The suspect left the area in the stolen car. About 9:30 p.m., Western Springs police reported they had a suspect in custody.

Police said there is no ongoing danger or threat to the community.
