Ramirez, who was hospitalized with a gunshot wound after the incident, and Arevalo, set up a meeting with Rios and Delgado to buy THC cartridges, according to prosecutors. Arevalo and Ramirez are accused of approaching the Honda, with Arevalo getting into the front seat and Ramirez getting into the backseat.

Arevalo and Ramirez are accused of telling Delgado and Rios that they were being robbed. According to police, Delgado and Rios were armed at the time of the incident.
Prosecutors say Arevalo shot Rios in the chest and head before shooting Delgado "multiple times" in the chest, a news release said. Arevalo and Rios are accused of fleeing the scene after the shooting.

Arevalo was taken into custody at a nearby hospital, where Ramirez had been hospitalized.

“Thanks to the outstanding work of the West Chicago Police Department, both defendants allegedly responsible for the murder of Alejandro Rios and Antonio Delgado are now in custody, where they will remain until trial,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a statement.

Ramirez is set to appear in court Dec. 16, and Arevalo's next court date is scheduled for Dec. 9.
