Ice Cream, School Supplies Go Together

The public is invited to bring donations of school supplies to an ice cream social from 5-7 p.m. Aug. 10 at Whittier Elementary School, 218 W. Park Ave.

The Wheaton Chamber of Commerce and the Community Relations Committee are collecting supplies for School District 200 children in need. The Ice Cream Social is an opportunity to collect additional backpacks and school supplies, stuff backpacks, and have some ice cream and a little fun. The event is for all families and community members.

Backpacks will not be given away at the ice cream social. Rather, backpacks and school supplies will be distributed through the district’s social work department.
