Best of Craigslist: Blue Hand Chair; Romulan Knife
Check out some of the most interesting posts we were able to find for the Elmhurst, Wheaton and Glen Ellyn area on Craigslist this past week.

Blue Hand Chair
I personally think it’s a little odd to have the place one puts one’s posterior to be shaped like an enormous hand, but this kids’ chair from Wheaton (complete with puzzle piece-shaped footstool) does look rather comfortable in its hypnotizing (if slightly faded) blue. (Hand chairs always make me think of Arrested Development, too…) The $100 price is firm; no word on if the chair’s caress is.
Romulan Bird of Prey Knife
Avian imagery is big in the culture of “Star Trek” Romulans, Wikipedia tells me, so that explains this “Bird of Prey” wicked double-bladed dagger, going for $40 from a Wheaton seller. It’s supposed to resemble a Romulan spaceship from the 2260’s, so you can get a few centuries ahead on your flying vessel-styled weaponry than anyone who’s still using a Boeing knife. (Terrible pun, sorry.)

Little Girl’s Lost Doggie
Warning: this post may break your heart. A tan-brown Chihuahua has gone missing from the Lombard/Villa Park area a few days ago, and the nine-year-old girl who loves her has been “scouring the whole neighborhood in the rain.” As you may recall, that has been a lot of rain; what a devoted kid. Hopefully the little pooch can make it home safely. Please let them know if you have any idea!
For the Articles, Of Course
With dates 1981 through 2009, this Elmhurst seller has a whopping 128 Playboy magazines: nearly three decades worth of snapshots of men’s interest, truly a cultural relic of purely scholarly interest. They’re in batches of 33 from the ‘80s, 57 from the ‘90s and 38 from the ‘00s. We won’t ask what you read them for, promise.

Own Tasty’s in Wheaton
Do you like Tasty’s, the fast food storefront restaurant in Wheaton? Want to run it yourself? For only $55,000, a price that has apparently been reduced, it looks like you can, and enjoy all the gyros, fish and pizza-by-the-slice that you can eat. Be sure to sell some, too, though, to make sure you recoup that $55,000 investment.
Original “Centipede” Machine
Plumbers were in my house the other day, and in the process of ripping out my entire piping system, they managed to flush out a house centipede to scurry across the floor, and I nearly hit the roof because I absolutely despise house centipedes. So I’m almost considering buying this original “Centipede” arcade-style machine ($1,000 in Wheaton) for myself just to take out my hatred on the many-legged scum. But you might be able to beat me to it if you feel similarly.
