Briar Patch Park Ribbon Cutting Planned For Sept 14

The Wheaton Park District recently completed improvements to Briar Patch Park, including the addition of three pickleball courts.

WHEATON, IL — A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Sept. 14 to celebrate the completion of improvements to Briar Patch Park. The upgrades include the addition of three pickleball courts, so fittingly, the ceremony will include a pickleball demonstration.

Other recent improvements to Briar Patch Park include:

  • Repaved tennis courts
  • Outdoor fitness equipment
  • Remodeled shelters, restrooms and concession areas
  • Landscaping improvements
  • New baseball field backstops
  • Resurfaced playgrounds

Rep. Terra Costa Howard, who helped with grant funding for Briar Patch Park improvements, will make remarks at the ribbon-cutting event. Refreshments will be served and activities will be available for attendees to take part in.
