Business Burglarized, 6 Resident Targeted By Scammers
Another string of identity thefts was reported in Wheaton on the city's blotter from early September.
WHEATON, IL — Nori Sushi was burglarized and fraud inicidents were reported on the most recent crime blotter from the Wheaton Police Department.
Nori Sushi and Grill Burglarized
Someone came into the back door of Nori Sushi, 800 S. County Farm Rd. and removed money from the cash register, along with a bag of cash. The burglary took place around 8 a.m. on Sept. 8.

2 Residents Targeted in TikTok Scams
Two residents were targeted in TikTok scams in less than a month, according to police.

One victim said they bought an item via the TikTok app on Aug. 10 and did not receive the item. The seller account was later proven to be fraudulent.
In early September, another resident sent money via TikTok to pay for services that turned out to be fraudulent.
Identity Theft via Cellphone
Police say someone hacked into a resident's phone to access bank information that was used to buy items online. The incident happened on Sept. 5.
Scammer Posed as Xfinity Representative
On Sept. 8, a resident got a call from someone who said they were a representative for Xfinity. The caller told the resident they would get a discount on services if they sent gift cards. Police say the call was a scam.
Fraudulent Investment Scam
Police say a resident put money into an online investment that was determined to be fraudulent.
Unemployment Scam
A resident told police someone used their Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) card to make unauthorized transactions. The incident happened between Sept. 10 and Sept. 11.
