DuPage Board To Consider Removing Hyde's Name From Courthouse: Report
DuPage County Board members will vote on the polarizing measure Tuesday. The measure proposes removing Henry Hyde's name.
DUPAGE COUNTY — DuPage County board members will consider a proposal Tuesday to take Rep. Henry Hyde's name off the courthouse building and rename the building, Chicago Tribune reports.
The building was named the Henry J. Hyde Judicial Office Facility in 2008 following Hyde's death. The representative was behind the Hyde Amendment, which has prohibited federal funding of abortions since 1980.
If the measure passes, the building will be renamed DuPage County Judicial Office Facility.
